She steered her BMW 530i into a rest area located on a lonely stretch of highway south of Chattanooga, Tennessee. There were only a few vehicles and a state police car in the parking lot.  It had been a long drive from the Florida Panhandle and the older lady was tired.

There is an App called Meetup that helps you find people with similar interests in your area. On the advice of my neighbor, I joined a group called the Panhandle Writers Group and have attended twice. 

Stephen King’s novels start off quickly from the very first page.  I would never stop reading long enough to enjoy each and every sentence that he writes though because his stories pull you along so fast.  His true talent for writing and creating characters is amazing. 

Once again my Border Collie Tommie, aka, ‘she-who-has-a-tiny-bladder’ woke me in the darkness of night.  Yes, she’s been to the vet; she’s fine.  But this time it was between midnight and one a.m.  This time my mind said, “Oh goodie.  You’re awake! 

When I moved to Pensacola, Florida from Oregon in 2008 my mother told me about a pet cemetery located at the other end of our road, about five miles from here.  She wanted to go down there to see the graves with me, although she had been there before. 

No editing software yet.  Have you seen enough pictures of my dogs yet?  I think it’s time to hit the road and find new subjects.

I woke up at one a.m. to let she-who-has-a-tiny-bladder outside.  As I tried to fall back asleep I thought of a twist to a story I’m writing.  It works, it builds character and brings in new locations.  It adds more, “What If”, to the story.

When I finish a good book I feel happy it’s done but disappointed that it’s the end.  It is the same way with my craft projects.  Two more projects are finished.

Every day I go outside and take pictures with my Canon Rebel EOS T2i, then review each photo, ask questions online, read other’s blogs and watch You Tube video’s about photography.

Some time over the last year the dogs and I have gained weight. It didn’t happen overnight, that’s for sure.  But how had we, my three Border Collies and I, bulked up in size?

I wrote this in 2013.  Today would have been my Mom’s 94th birthday.

This morning I went to the Calagaz Photo store in Pensacola, Florida to pick up my Canon Rebel EO5 T2i that was there for cleaning.  Before leaving home I searched through my Dad’s old photography equipment to see what I could sell or trade.  He had several 35 mm cameras: Pentax, Mamiya/Sekor (Japanese), Samoca and a Konica. 

When my car gets low on gas it makes me very mad.  I hate to stop at gas stations.  I’m not sure why, although one time two years ago a fuel pump nozzle didn’t automatically shut off and sprayed my van and me with gas.  I freaked out and probably have never recovered.  What if it happens again?  I’m weird that way!

A happy heart sings regardless of ability.  We sing along with others who inspire us.

I’ve written many times about the morning ritual I have with my three Border Collies.  Every day we walk around the back acreage, something they look forward to after they eat their morning meal.

In April, 2017 I went to a Bead Retreat in Ogunquit, Maine.  It seems fitting that I’ve been home working on one of my favorite new bead ventures: bead embroidery.
